As one Kicker leaves out the door, another Kicker enters. Who Dat Nation will be able to breathe a little easier now with veteran K Shayne Graham putting it the uprights. Recently reported by Fox Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo.
Graham, and career 85% kicker, started out with the Saints in 2000 and has consistently kicked for 13 NFL teams. Graham went 31/38 last season with the Houston Texans and was a Pro Bowl selection. In the former All-Pro’s 14 year career he’s only missed a total of 42 kicks. Thats 245 makes out of 287 attempts with a career long of 55 yards.
Graham is most known for his seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals where he holds several franchise records. He holds the franchise record for most points scored (131). Most field goals in a season (31). Highest field goal percentage in a season (91.2).
Shayne Graham is a temporary, but very good fix for the situation at Kicker. Saints will look to potential draft a kicker in the 2014 draft this coming April. Don’t be surprised if it’s Tulane kicker Cairo Santos, he’s a good one similar to Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. But until then, let’s welcome Shayne Graham back to where it all began, put that business behind us, and look forward to Sunday’s most important game against the Carolina Panthers.
