In a s0mewhat ugly mismatch the New Orleans Saints took another step foward to 5-2, with a 62-7 thrashing of the winless Colts. This was a week for stats and records. For starters, Drew Brees threw more TD’s (5) than incompletions (4). Brees threw for 325 yards in a rocking-chair game for the offense. Overall they gained 557 total yards, a massive number. TE Jimmy Graham also continued his success catching another 2 TD’s. Mark Ingram ran for 91, and Darren Sproles chipped in with 88 to bolster a solid running game. Against lackluster defense the Saints will erupt for montrous totals every time. The offense if the picture of efficiency.
The Colts didn’t have much to offer on offense, seeing as they were behind immediatly and had to pass with the defense knowing fully they would do so. New Orleans shut down any attempts at an uprising by taking away the ball 3 times, and holding the Colts to just 252 yards of total offense. The lone Indy score came on a Delone Carter run in the 3rd quarter after the game was well out of reach. Next week the Saints have St.Louis on the road. New Orleans should take care of business for their own sake.
