Texans vs Saints Recap

What a wild one. Drew Brees had another big day as the Saints won in shootout fashion 40-33. Brees threw 3 TD’s and 370 yards, with the most important of all coming on 2 key plays to young TE Jimmy Graham. Brees hit Graham for a 27 yard TD, and then later on a big play for 23 and a 15 yard personal foul. The final drive ended with rookie RB Mark Ingram scoring from 13 yards out. The game winner was a 8 play 93 yard drive, which is the type of drive great teams make to win games. Overall the offense was very good gaining 454 yards and going 8-13 on 3rd downs.

The Saints defense was porous on Sunday, allowing 473 total yards, and only taking the ball away once. QB Matt Schaub passed for 373 yards and 3 scores. The Saints had no answer for WR  Andre Johnson all day. Rookie RB Ben Tate had 82 rushing yards, and looked to be wearing on New Orleans D. If not for Drew Brees’ late 4th quarter drive, the defense would be on the hook for a tough loss. Next week the Saints are on the road against Jacksonville. Check in for a preview of the game.
